Requirements & CE Overview

North Carolina Electricians (U, I, and L) are required to take 8 hours of continuing education each year for the currently adopted code cycle over a 3 year period. Of the 24 total hours in continuing education needed in the adopted code cycle, half the hours can be online courses and the other half have to be live seminars. All 12 hours of ONLINE continuing education can be taken at one time. After 12 hours has been taken online, no additional online credit will count for the current code cycle. (Example: Electrician has not taken any continuing education. He is going to attend an 8 hour class next week and wants to do some online course work too. Because he will be taking 8 hours in live classes, he can take a total of 12 hours online. The remaining 4 must be in a live seminar)
