Iowa Contractor License

All "construction" contractors doing business in Iowa who make more than $2,000 per year must be registered with the Iowa Division of Labor.

In most cases, a contractor whose principal place of business is located outside the State of Iowa must have a bond on file with the Iowa Division of Labor prior to starting work in Iowa. This bond must be issued by a surety company licensed to do business in Iowa and issued on a bond form provided by the Iowa Division of Labor.
