Idaho HVAC License (Contractor/Journeyman)

Requirements:
  • Applicants shall provide proof of a minimum of four (4) years experience working in the trade or as a registered HVAC apprentice making HVAC installations in compliance with the requirements of the State.
  • Applicants shall provide proof, satisfactory to the Board, of having legally acted as an HVAC journeyman for a period of not less than twenty-four (24) months.
Services: A HVAC/Refrigeration license enables a contractor to perform all aspects of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ductwork, ventilation, as well as gas piping to any heating apparatus or to appliances.
Applications: A copy of your current pictured identification must accompany this application and $35 (Journeyman)(Contractor)

  • 50 questions and a time limit of 3hrs (Journeyman Exam)
  • 50 questions and a time limit of 2hrs (Contractor)
  • Exam requires a 70% to pass.
