Alabama Contractor License (AL)

A contractors license is required in Alabama (AL) at the state level for any commercial or industrial projects that exeed over $50,000 in value. An Alabama Home Builders license is required for any residential project that exceeds $10,000 or more in value. All electrical, plumbing, and hvac contractors, administrators, and journeymen are also required to be licensed. Applications can be obtained from the following boards: general contractors by calling 1-334-272-5030; home builders by calling 1-334-242-2230; electricians by calling 1-334-269-9990; HVAC contractors by calling 1-334-242-5550; and plumbers by calling 1-205-945-4857.
